There is some information below about the Miniature Pinscher as a breed, but first, a little about us:
We have taken great care to select only the finest quality Miniature Pinschers with wonderful temperaments and excellent health. All of our dogs are raised in our Central Pennsylvania home as part of our family so that they will be ready to become a welcome addition to your family! We love our puppies, and we want to be sure that they (and you) are happy. We enjoy getting photos and updates from new owners on how our puppies are doing. We are always available by email or phone for questions or advice.
We have made a commitment to all of our dogs, that they will never end up homeless or in a puppy mill. If you choose to add one of our precious puppies to your home, we ask that if for any reason you can no longer keep him/her, you contact us and we will gladly accept him/her back. All of our puppies come on a spay/neuter agreement. When we receive verification from your vet that your new puppy has been spayed/neutered, we will send you your AKC limited registration applications to be sent in by the new owner. Every dog that is registered has a pedigree (family tree or list of direct ancestors). A certified copy of the puppy's pedigree can be ordered from the AKC with the registration application, or we can photo and email you copies of the parent's pedigrees.
Every puppy goes to his/her new home with samples of the puppy food they have been eating, a few of the puppy training potty pads that he/she is used to, and a health record pamphlet that lists all shots and care performed on the puppy. We also provide a copy of the Pennsylvania Dog Purchaser Protection Act's "Facts For Purchasers" pamphlet along with a Health Certificate signed by one of the exceptional Veterinarians at Metzger Animal Hospital, in State College, PA, stating that the puppy is in good health. Our puppies are given the best quality food, lots of TLC, they are socialized and given a variety of toys and obstacles to develop their intellectual skills and stimulate development. Tails and dewclaws are done. Ears are uncropped. (You can read more about tails, dews, and ears on the puppy care page)
We do not ship our puppies because shippers treat animals as cargo and do not assume liability for them or their safety. Besides, we want to meet you in person, since you will be raising one of our precious puppies! Depending on where you are located, sometimes we can make transportation arrangements for the puppy. Fees for transportation depend on the distance and time required.
ABOUT THE MIN PIN:
The Miniature Pinscher (Min Pin) is a smart lively little bright eye'd companion that grows to approximately 10 to 12 1/2 inches in height and 6 to 10 lbs in weight. Occasionally, a pup may be under or oversized, but our goal is to have puppies that meet the breed standard.
Min Pins are always entertaining, remaining playful throughout their lifetime, even into old age. Min Pins are intelligent and devoted, and with consistency in training, can excel in obedience. Min Pins are excellent watch dogs whose fondness of home and master are unmatched by any other breed!
Whether you want a wonderful companion, or a performer for show, these striking little dog's shine! Their trademark "hackney-like action" makes them appear to elegantly float across the ground.
No matter where they go, they are eye-catchers, and their personality even captures the hearts of people who say that they don't normally like small dogs! This along with a temperament, that is more like that of a larger
dog, earned the Min Pin the title: "The King of Toys." A big dog in a little body, the Min Pin is a keen watchdog that is always on duty.
The Min Pin has a short coat that requires minimal attention, and always looks neat and clean. Min Pins shed minimally, therefore occasional brushing is more for the dog's enjoyment. Bathing monthly with a baby wipe touch up or two in between is usually sufficient.
Their coats come in Black/Rust (Tinker), Chocolate/Rust (Kissie),
Stag Red (Andy) and Clear Red (Anne).
The Min Pin is sometimes thought to be a Miniature Doberman because of it's uncanny resemblance. Actually, the Min Pin is much older than the Doberman, and has existed for several centuries. The Min Pin originated in Germany, and is thought to have been developed from the German Pinscher, possibly the Italian Greyhound, and even possibly the Dashound.
The AKC website lists the current breed standard. Check our links page for links to the AKC and Miniature Pinscher Club websites. But first, have a look around at our whole family of Min Pins!
